Hello blog! It's been awhile since I posted, and I don't really have much of an excuse for that. The good thing is that I'm back! [warning: very rambly post]
Recently, I've started to become really paranoid over the excessive amount of chemicals I put into my skin daily. I've realized that the skincare items I've considered to be holy grail for so long have way too many toxic ingredients. So due to this mindset, I have been trying to find new products to use and incorporate into my routine. My skincare routine is actually quite simple; the same lotion for my face in the morning and night, and a sunscreen for when I go out. I have really sensitive dry skin, so it's always a struggle to find new products that work for my face. A handful of brands I'm really curious to try out (not sponsored, though I wish I were!) are: 100% Pure, S.W. Basics, Kimberly Sayer, Dr. Bronner's, Cocokind, Alteya Organics, and Athar'a. The ingredients these brands use are very natural and seem so good for the skin. I've actually tried a 100% Pure lip gloss before, which I really loved because it was moisturizing and non-sticky. 100% Pure is actually having a couple sales going on right now, which prompted me to purchase their Organic Rose Hydrosol Facial Mist. I think this will be really good for me because it's supposed to be very hydrating. I'm currently patiently waiting for S.W. Basics to go on sale again at Target (yes, they are available at Target!). The products that I really want to try out are the cream (for night use), the makeup remover, and the lip balms. I will definitely post about these when I go and buy them!
As I am starting college next month, I will need to purchase some type of body wash and body lotion. I'm very intrigued by the Dr. Bronner's soaps because they are multi-purpose and can be used for washing your body as well as your hair. The prices are very reasonable, and using one product for two purposes will definitely be easier for me when I lug all my products to the dorm bathroom. I'm thinking of buying one of the pump soaps and one of their lotions to try out, and hopefully they work out for me! As for a morning moisturizer, I think I want to try the Kimberly Sayer ones because they contain SPF. I've never really spent much on skincare before, but I think I'm ready to start investing in my skin and keeping it youthful and healthy :)
Though switching over to using all natural/organic skincare products will be a bit of a slow process, I'm pretty excited to start trying new things and discovering what works for my skin. As for makeup, I don't think I will be making the switch to natural/organic products, because I think wearing makeup every so often should be okay, where as skincare items are a must for me every single day.
Anyways, thank you for reading this awfully long-no-picture blog post!
